Awareness and Education
Creating awareness and educating people about the Rhino poaching crisis in South Africa and world-wide through various events, the main annual event being a formal Gala Dinner and Show “Dancing for Rhinos” hosted specifically to educate and raise funds.
We also believe in educating our children, the ambassadors of our country and we would like to plan (be part of) specific projects involving communities with relation to this in the future.
Protection Providing various security (equipment, personal protection and communication, tracker dogs and equipment, translocation, de-horning, fencing, monitoring etc.) to game reserves, sanctuaries, rehabilitation centres and parks etc. for their wildlife (focussing currently on the following threatened species: Rhino, Elephant, Lion and Pangolin). This will be will adjusted for other species when and where applicable.
1. Milk (Food) and Medicine
Providing easy access for feeding as well medical supplies to veterinarians for Rhino orphans in their care. This is being done by establishing partnerships with various wholesalers throughout the country to ensure that funding goes directly to where it is required – the Rhino Orphans. This ensures a transparent process which is easily traceable and manageable.
2. Hospital / Care Facilities
Providing funding as well as being personally involved in establishing medical facilities (sourcing of building supplies, equipment etc.) and rehabilitation centres (partly or in full depending on funding) for the hospitalisation and care of Rhino orphans.
Providing funding for poaching survivors and their medical care etc. We aim to work with organisations who are specifically involved in the medical care of survivors as the costs of these treatments are exponential and highly qualified staff is required for their care.
Provide ad-hoc support to Rhino owners, game reserves, parks etc for Rhino-related situations depending on the criteria of request (e.g. urgent treatment for an animal, even if not due to a poaching-related incident). We need to save every Rhino life, regardless the circumstances of injury etc.
We believe in a strategic as well as hands-on approach due to the complexity of this crisis. Expansion requirements will be adopted in the future depending on the development of this crisis. There is no single solution and we would like to aim at a pro-active approach wherever possible and yet keeping the focus on all aspects of this complex situation.
Every single Rhino life counts and in saving a life, we could save the species!
